Community Empowerment & Community Gardens

A community garden is not just another public garden - it is a space that we create, that we control, and that represents what can be achieved by the collective energy and will of people coming together in a spirit of dignity, equality and solidarity. That's why a community garden is so special, and so different from a - dare I say it - a "common or garden" public space.

The idea was very well expressed by Terry Pratchett, who wrote: “You can’t go around building a better world for people. Only people can build a better world for people. Otherwise it’s just a cage.”

A community garden like ours should be a living example of that idea: people all together building a better world for people.
