Meanwhile Awarded Accreditation with Arbnet

We would like to thank one of our very dedicated Management Committee volunteers for spending a lot of her time documenting all the trees on our four acre community garden. A huge task as we discovered we have a collection of approximately 300 individual trees representing about 70 species and subspecies.

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a Level 1 Accreditation by the ArbNet Accreditation Programme, by the Morton Arboretum in Illinois, USA, in cooperation with the American Public Gardens Association and Botanic Gardens Conservation International.

ArbNet is the only global initiative to officially recognise arboreta, (collections of trees and shrubs) based on a set of professional standards.  As well as planning and public access, these standards include planting and conservation.

For Meanwhile Gardens Community Association,  the ArbNet distinction is a hugely important recognition of our current activities, as well as of our long term mission to protect and develop the Gardens.
